For the past 10 years we have enjoyed a relationship with Arms of Compassion, a Christian ministry based in Oklahoma. Our organizations teamed up in disaster relief supplying generators to storm damaged areas without electricity. We were introduced to such devastation at the Joplin, Missouri tornado in 2011 and again in 2013 with the Moore, Oklahoma tornado. We worked well together and gained tremendous experience.
In recent years AOC has shifted their focus to ministering to the homeless. The start of all ministry consists of intentionally reaching out to people where they are. It may seem simple, but Jesus’ model of ministry teaches that He spent time engaging people in their environments. While it is undeniable that Jesus was committed to meeting people where they were, he did not stop there. He was also committed to sharing truth with those he reached. Our ministry is also committed to sharing truth with people. We believe that an encounter with Christ will change everything!
We have come along side AOC and provided clothing, food, funds and Bibles to assist in this widespread problem in our communities. It has been an ideal relationship and extremely beneficial to both of ministries. |
